Ingrid Betancourt is a Colombian former presidential candidate known for her crusade against corruption, violence and environmental degradation. In February 2002 she was taken hostage by the Colombia’s terrorist group FARC and rescued on July 2, 2008. She is a bestselling author translated into more than fifteen languages. She is currently at the University of Oxford.
